Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: September 2026

Welcome to Amodels Hobby.

Amodels Hobby is operated by Amodels Inc., located in Riverwoods, Illinois, United States.

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Amodels Hobby website and purchases made through our online store.

By accessing our website, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our applicable store policies.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to limit or exclude any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.

1. Products and Hobby Use

Amodels Hobby sells plastic model kits, aftermarket parts, decals, accessories, detail sets, resin products, photo-etched parts, 3D-printed products, tools, collectible products, and other hobby-related merchandise.

Many products we sell are manufactured by independent third-party manufacturers.

Product specifications, contents, colors, packaging, markings, decals, materials, and other characteristics may be changed by manufacturers without notice.

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate product information but do not manufacture most of the products offered on our website.

Manufacturer instructions, warnings, specifications, and safety information should always be reviewed and followed.

2. Product Images and Descriptions

We make reasonable efforts to display and describe products accurately.

Product photographs may be provided by manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, or created by Amodels Hobby.

Images may be representative. Packaging, labeling, colors, included components, or minor product details may differ from photographs due to manufacturer production changes, packaging revisions, lighting, photography, monitor settings, or other factors.

Product titles, descriptions, specifications, scale information, compatibility information, and other information are provided for identification and shopping purposes.

If you believe a product description contains an error, please contact us before purchasing.

3. Scale Models and Aftermarket Compatibility

Model kits and aftermarket products may require assembly, fitting, trimming, sanding, drilling, cutting, painting, gluing, modification, or other modeling work.

Aftermarket products may require modeling experience and may not fit every kit or production version without adjustment.

References to a particular aircraft, vehicle, ship, model kit, manufacturer, brand, scale, or kit number are generally provided to help identify the intended application or compatibility of the product.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, such references do not necessarily mean that the aftermarket-product manufacturer is affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by the manufacturer of the original subject or model kit.

Customers are responsible for reviewing product descriptions and compatibility information before purchase.

4. Age Recommendation and Product Safety

Products sold by Amodels Hobby are intended primarily for hobby, modeling, and collectible use and are not intended as toys for young children.

Unless a manufacturer provides a different age recommendation, Amodels Hobby generally recommends model kits, aftermarket parts, decals, accessories, and similar hobby products for ages 14 and older.

A manufacturer’s specific age restriction or safety warning should always be followed.

5. Small Parts and Choking Hazards

Model kits, aftermarket parts, accessories, and related products may contain very small components.

Small components can present a choking, swallowing, or ingestion hazard, particularly to young children.

Keep model parts, accessories, packaging materials, decals, resin components, photo-etched components, and other small items away from young children.

Do not place model components or modeling materials in the mouth.

6. Sharp, Fragile and Specialized Components

Some products may contain sharp, pointed, fragile, metal, wire, resin, photo-etched, 3D-printed, or other specialized components.

These components may require careful handling.

Cutting, drilling, sanding, trimming, bending, filing, or otherwise modifying model components can create sharp edges, fragments, dust, or other hazards.

Customers should use appropriate care, tools, ventilation, and protective equipment as appropriate for the product and activity.

7. Adhesives, Paints, Solvents and Other Materials

Model building may involve adhesives, model cement, paints, primers, fillers, resins, cleaners, thinners, solvents, and other materials.

Such products may present hazards if swallowed, inhaled, improperly handled, exposed to skin or eyes, or used without appropriate ventilation. Some materials may also be flammable or subject to additional safety requirements.

Always follow the manufacturer’s labeling, instructions, warnings, ventilation requirements, storage instructions, and recommended protective measures.

Never ingest modeling chemicals or materials.

If Amodels Hobby sells chemical or art-material products, the manufacturer’s safety labeling and instructions form an important part of the product information.

CPSC requires consumer art materials to undergo toxicological assessment and carry applicable labeling, and hazardous household substances can also have precautionary-label requirements.

8. Tools

Model building may involve hobby knives, cutters, saws, drills, files, sanding equipment, airbrush equipment, electrical tools, and other potentially hazardous equipment.

Tools should be used only for their intended purpose and according to their manufacturer’s instructions and warnings.

Appropriate care and adult supervision should be used where necessary.

9. Minors

Young children should not be permitted unsupervised access to model kits, small parts, sharp components, modeling tools, adhesives, paints, solvents, or other potentially hazardous modeling materials.

Adult supervision is strongly recommended whenever a minor uses products or materials that require assembly, cutting, gluing, painting, chemicals, tools, or other potentially hazardous activities.

Amodels Hobby’s general 14+ recommendation does not replace a manufacturer’s specific age recommendation or legally required warning.

10. Manufacturer Warnings

Do not remove, ignore, cover, or disregard safety warnings supplied by a product manufacturer.

Where manufacturer packaging, instructions, or labeling contains an age restriction, choking warning, chemical warning, safety instruction, or other precaution, that information should be followed.

Amodels Hobby’s general product information is not intended to replace manufacturer-specific warnings or instructions.

11. Orders

Submitting an order through our website constitutes an offer to purchase the products included in the order.

Receipt of an automated order confirmation does not necessarily mean that an order has been finally accepted or shipped.

Orders may be reviewed for payment authorization, inventory availability, address accuracy, fraud prevention, shipping restrictions, pricing errors, or other legitimate business reasons.

We may cancel or decline an order where reasonably necessary, including in cases involving unavailable merchandise, payment failure, suspected fraud, prohibited transactions, material pricing or listing errors, or shipping restrictions.

If we cancel a paid order before shipment, the applicable amount paid for the canceled merchandise will be refunded.

12. Pricing and Listing Errors

We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate prices, inventory, product descriptions, and other information.

Occasionally, typographical, technical, pricing, inventory, or listing errors may occur.

If we discover a material error affecting an order before shipment, we may contact the customer to explain the error and, where appropriate, offer the customer the opportunity to proceed under the corrected terms or cancel the affected item or order.

We may cancel an order affected by an obvious or material pricing or listing error and refund amounts already paid for the canceled merchandise, subject to applicable law.

We will not substitute a materially different product without the customer’s agreement.

13. Product Availability

Inventory displayed on our website may change without notice.

Placing an item in a shopping cart does not reserve inventory.

Occasionally, an item may become unavailable after an order is submitted because of inventory discrepancies, damage, simultaneous purchases, supplier information, or other circumstances.

If we cannot fulfill an ordered item, we will contact the customer or refund the applicable amount as appropriate.

14. Payments

Customers agree to provide accurate billing and payment information.

By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.

Orders may be delayed or canceled if payment cannot be authorized or reasonably verified.

15. Fraud Prevention

We reserve the right to review orders for suspected fraud, unauthorized payment activity, unusual purchasing patterns, address discrepancies, or other security concerns.

Where reasonably necessary, we may request additional information to verify an order.

We may decline or cancel transactions that we reasonably believe are fraudulent, unauthorized, unlawful, or present a significant security risk.

Nothing in these Terms limits a customer’s lawful rights regarding unauthorized transactions, billing disputes, or chargebacks.

16. Taxes

Applicable sales taxes and other charges may be calculated and collected as required by law.

Customers purchasing internationally may also be responsible for taxes, duties, customs charges, brokerage fees, or other governmental charges imposed by the destination country.

17. Shipping

Orders are shipped using the shipping services available for the destination and package at the time of checkout.

Shipping and delivery estimates are estimates unless expressly identified as guaranteed.

Carrier transit times may be affected by weather, transportation disruptions, customs processing, holidays, carrier operations, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

We will comply with applicable requirements concerning shipment timing, delays, cancellation, and refunds.

Under the FTC’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, sellers generally must have a reasonable basis for the advertised shipment time; when no shipment time is stated, the rule generally requires shipment within 30 days, with specified customer rights when shipment is delayed.

18. Tracking and Delivery

Tracking information will be provided when available.

A carrier’s tracking information may be used as evidence concerning shipment and delivery, but customers should contact us promptly if a package is missing, damaged, or appears to have been delivered incorrectly.

Claims involving lost or damaged shipments may require photographs, packaging, tracking information, carrier investigation, or other documentation.

19. International Orders

International customers are responsible for determining whether a product may legally be imported into their country.

International shipments may be subject to customs inspection, import duties, taxes, brokerage charges, restrictions, or delays.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated at checkout, customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and similar destination-country charges are the customer’s responsibility.

We may decline an international order if we cannot legally or reasonably ship the product to the destination.

20. Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by our separate Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

Customers should review that policy before purchasing.

Nothing in our Returns & Refunds Policy or these Terms is intended to eliminate rights or remedies that customers have under applicable law.

21. Order Cancellations

Customers should contact us as soon as possible if they wish to cancel an order.

We will make reasonable efforts to cancel an order before shipment, but cancellation may not be possible once an order has been processed or transferred to a carrier.

If an order has already shipped, the Returns & Refunds Policy may apply.

22. Vintage and Out-of-Production Products

Amodels Hobby may sell vintage, discontinued, rare, or out-of-production products.

Because of their age, these products may show normal deterioration or variation in packaging, decals, instructions, plastic, paper, adhesives, or other materials.

We will make reasonable efforts to disclose material condition issues known to us.

Original packaging may show shelf wear, fading, discoloration, creasing, old price labels, manufacturer packaging variations, or other age-related characteristics.

Customers purchasing vintage or out-of-production merchandise should review the product description and photographs carefully.

23. Intellectual Property

The Amodels Hobby website, original website content, store branding, graphics, and other materials created by or for Amodels Hobby may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property laws.

Manufacturer names, trademarks, aircraft names, vehicle names, logos, product names, and other third-party intellectual property appearing on our website remain the property of their respective owners.

Their use on our website is intended, where applicable, to identify, describe, or provide information concerning products offered for sale and does not by itself imply sponsorship, affiliation, authorization, or endorsement.

24. Counterfeit, Unauthorized and Questionable Products

Amodels Hobby seeks to sell legitimate merchandise from manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and other sources we reasonably believe to be legitimate.

We do not knowingly offer counterfeit merchandise.

If we receive credible information that a product may violate intellectual-property rights, applicable law, or product-safety requirements, we may investigate, suspend, or remove the product from sale as appropriate.

Rights holders may contact us regarding a product listing they believe infringes their rights.

25. Product Modification and Customer Use

Model building inherently may involve modification of products.

Amodels Hobby is not responsible for damage caused by improper assembly, improper installation, misuse, unauthorized modification, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, use of incompatible materials, or improper use of tools or chemicals, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Customers should use reasonable care and appropriate modeling practices.

26. Warranties and Manufacturer Support

Some products may be covered by warranties or support provided by their manufacturer.

Manufacturer warranties, where applicable, are governed by the manufacturer’s own terms.

Amodels Hobby may assist customers with manufacturer issues where practical, but we do not independently create or extend a manufacturer’s warranty unless expressly stated.

Nothing in this section limits warranties or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

27. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amodels Hobby and Amodels Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from misuse of products, failure to follow safety instructions, improper assembly or modification, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

This provision does not exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, nor does it eliminate any non-waivable consumer rights.

28. Website Availability

We do not guarantee that our website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may temporarily suspend or modify website functionality for maintenance, security, technical problems, updates, or other legitimate operational reasons.

29. Prohibited Use

You may not use our website to engage in fraud, unlawful activity, unauthorized access, interference with website security, automated abuse, infringement of intellectual-property rights, or other activities that violate applicable law or the rights of others.

30. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website may use or link to third-party services, including payment, shipping, technology, or other service providers.

Those third parties may operate under their own terms and policies.

Amodels Hobby is not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control, except as otherwise required by applicable law.

31. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our separate Privacy Policy.

32. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The current version will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

Changes will apply prospectively as appropriate and will not be used to retroactively eliminate rights that a customer already has under applicable law.

33. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

34. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable federal law and, where applicable, the laws of the State of Illinois.

Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of protections or rights that cannot legally be waived.
